It was very cold to walk today, but I had to go out and find the birds. I actually saw more in my yard, waking up to a White-throated Sparrow. I walked to Lake Park and looked down on the raft of ducks braving the waves. I do need to get a scope, but there were definitely some Buffleheads and Scaup. The only new bird at the park was American Crow, but I added the wonderful Mallard at the North Avenue dam. Yard birds included White-breased Nuthatch, Downy and Hairy and Red-bellied Woodpeckers, Black-capped Chickadees, Dark-eyed Juncos, House Finch, House sparrow, American Goldfinch. I love the beginning of BIGBY when all these count as NEW!!
Too bad Owen is just seeing Boids in Jersey.
